A Very Belated Christmas

As I was uploading the shower shots, I found these old pics on my camera. They reminded me that I got to enjoy NYC's Christmas sights twice this year, first with my youth group and then with my housemates. Nothin' like enormous doughnuts, Southern accents and nutty old men to stir up the Christmas spirit!

Michael, Shelley, Clare and Will, please please please come back to visit us soon. Y'all really need another shot at seein' some o' them hobos.

Showering

About two months ago, two high schoolers from my youth group asked if they could host their baby shower at my house. I agreed and so, in addition to school work and finals, my time since then has been filled with budgeting, planning, shopping, decorating, and various other baby shower prep tasks. It's been somewhat of a roller coaster ride, but we pulled it off!

Congratulations, Chris and Carol!

Check it Out!

It's a common perception that professors are un-hip. This semester, though some of my professors are more hip than I am! I'm not kidding, my English theory professor just announced the start of his new blog.

He's already written a book on textual editing (that is, how publishers choose what/which text to publish) and his current mission is to get other teachers on board with bringing it into the classroom (hence the blog). As someone who had NO exposure to this stuff, I now find it fascinating.

And, once class is over, I'm pretty excited about following all updates on the textual editing front via textualediting.com.

P.S. When he told the class that the url was textualediting.com, my first thought was "How was that url not taken!?" English major much?
